Like in Canada we produce most of the world’s maple syrup.

What are other goods that one country or city that has the market cornered?

A LOT of opium, seems to have come from Afghanistan.
The Taliban outlawed opium fields.
I guess they don’t have them anywhere else…

@MrGrimm888 Most of the world’s opium comes from the Golden Triangle, an opium-producing area of SE Asia, comprising parts of Myanmar, Laos, and Thailand.

And Asia is not the only source for opium and its derivatives. South America has an active poppy growing industry.

^It was something I had read recently. It was an article about an illicit opiod “shortage,” in European countries.
It was saying that addicts were having to go to even worse drugs (like fentanyl,) and it listed Afghanistan as the largest provider of illegal opium, for most of Europe.
I can’t recall the exact source.

Admittedly, I am quite ignorant of the European opioid consumer market.
I’ll happily concede.

Apologies. I go to great lengths, not to spread misinformation.
