Ever hear of back-supporting inserts for metal folding chairs?

Asked by Jeruba (56106points) 2 months ago

When I’m fated to sit on a standard metal (or padded) folding chair, I end up with a sore back. The whole lower back area is simply open; there’s only minimal support in the shoulder blade region.

Is there such a thing as an insert for lower back support with a folding chair? It’s a wide opening; cushions fall right through. My searches have turned up nothing.

There are lumbar support options, but I’ve never tried any. Here’s an example https://www.amazon.com/Lifted-Lumbar-Doctor-Developed-Adjustable-Ergonomic/dp/B0C1TWB4DG/ref=asc_df_B0C1TWB4DG/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=697367862630&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=16338754076701947790&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9012417&hvtargid=pla-2186824564773&psc=1&mcid=19739d385416371598b6a8a48c400500

I can’t recommend it, but I think this is the type of cushion you are looking for. I assume it can be used with a folding chair, but I’m not even sure of that.

Maybe a basic stadium seat would be helpful?

There are products that do that very thing. My little Island Opera House Theatre has them for people to use if they want on the very old theatre seats

Theater seats usually have a full back.
