Have you ever driven a steamroller?
The county is paving my street today, and just after the asphalt is spread, a guy comes behind him on a steam roller, back and forth, smoothing things out.
It looks like a ton of fun. And it’s pretty hard to screw up what you’re doing.

No, but I would imagine that watching the asphalt getting flatter and smoother and more compact as you drive would be very satisfying. Immediate reward for work done.

You might be able to ride along (if there are two seats) with a company near you as a vocational curiosity.
No, but an acquaintance has. She was a museum curator in Arkansas, and used a steamroller as a giant printer. Similar to printing with potatoes or linoleum for a school art project, but much bigger and more dangerous.
