I prefer Smarties, but they’re not chocolate.

RedDeerGuy1's avatar

@smudges I did not know that. Tell me more?

Smarties are sweet and sour little disk like candy. Not chocolate as @smudges said.

I think in England, so perhaps in Canada, Smarties are the equivalent of M&Ms. Hence the confusion.

Do I have to choose? Agh! Don’t make me choose!

RedDeerGuy1's avatar

@Hawaii_Jake You can have all three.

Smarties are M&M like chocolates everywhere except for the colonies.
But I still think M&Ms are slightly better.
Also, Smarties are made by Nestlé, the water thieves, so they are disqualified by default.

I dislike peanut butter. It’s M&Ms for me. As cartoon character Cathy once said, “the splendor of quantity!”

My true favorite chocolate candy is Hershey’s Kisses. I stay clear of fancy, expensive chocolate varieties because I can’t afford to get hooked on them.

English-made Cadbury’s, though . . .

Jeez RDG, thanks a lot! I was looking up the name of a candy that’s like Smarties (it’s called Sweet Tarts, btw) and I went down the rabbit hole of going from site to site. I now find myself on a site called candystore.com and there are soooo many tempting treats! 8(

@smudges You can go a healthy route and go to nuts.com

They have more than candy.

I think other people have said this, but Smarties aren’t chocolate. I do like them though. To me Reese’s pieces beats out M&M’s every time even though I really like M&M’s.

Although I do really like the pretzel M&Ms. I don’t even know if they still have them because I haven’t bought them in ages. Everything is so expensive chocolate-wise.

@Jeruba so you don’t like peanut butter at all? Is that allergy based or just preference? Interestingly enough, I don’t like peanut butter straight, as in a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, but there’s plenty of things that have peanut butter in them that I like, such as Reese’s pieces. But I don’t like nuts at all in general, and every time I tell somebody that, they’re automatic responses, oh, are you allergic? At which point I say, no, I just don’t like them.
