I have him to thank for your knowledge about the NFL. The Chiefs are in the same division as my favorite team, the Denver Broncos. We are rivals. Grrr
I don’t know how accurate my recollections are, but I don’t think he had a will but he did leave behind a pickup truck.
I also think he was briefly married to Farrah Fawcett, and had a pinup of Valerie Billionis. ;-p
I’m happy for him because the Chiefs won the last Souperbowl, and he finally got to marry his pinup girl. ;-)
He seemed like he like to work on projects.
Thanks for sharing the obituary. I enjoyed that. He must have been quite a character.
The only thing I gleaned from the things you occasionally wrote about him was that he very reluctantly carried out chores you assigned him. Sometimes he refused. That seems completely normal.
If I remember right, he would frequently begin projects, then abandon them and leave everything laying around. And didn’t he have a lot of tools?
YES @Smudges! He has more tools than Midas…but you can’t find the one you really need!
@Brian1946…I think they won the last two Superbowls.
Before that the last one they won was in 1969….HOW DID I KNOW THAT???
Thank you!
I know more crap about the Chiefs. I just listened convincing myself it was an honor!
I did. Although he was pretty difficult to live was awfully difficult the last few months…I.had no idea he was sick. Just figured he was in asshole mode
You always drew a picture of a likeable man who loved his family deeply. That’s my image of Rick—a “regular guy” who was fun to be with.
You, the children, and grandchildren have my sympathies. Please cherish each other and all those precious memories.
Rick allowed your family to decorate at your wedding with poison ivy. :-)
He was! saved him from a throttling many times!
Oh Val Im so sorry, I had no idea. Big long hugs. Im glad I got to meet you both.
Honestly my impression was that he was the boss and you tried to let him think that haha!
Aw, I like this question. I’m so sorry.
I would say Rick was very good at being a grandpa (much loved by the kids). Liked camping and working on projects (didn’t always finish them). Good at building and fixing things. He built a ramp for your old dogs. Had lots of opinions (like you). Kind to animals (did he save a possum? Some sort of small animal, at least). I feel like he was a good cook, in a spicy, meaty way? I’m certain that you two loved each other. You often said he could make you laugh, you talked about him a lot, and you took care of each other. I’m really sorry. Please keep talking about him, if that helps a little bit. [Hugs].
He was a great grammpa cuz he could totally relate to being 4 years old!
