What is the gpm on your water meter as a toilet bowl is filling with all other taps turned off? You can extrapolate that out to 12 hours and see what your water company charges for that amount of water.

@Blackwater_Park Sorry I rent. My landlord said that my water was running all night and It costs lots. My toilet is fixed now.

About three gallons per minute so 12×60x3 is 2160 gallons. It’s about $4.25 per 1000 gallons and and $7 per 1000 gallons in sewer charges where I live 11.25*2.16 is about 25 bucks.

Depends if it’s just a little dribble or running full tilt. I’d guess if you were in the flat you would notice if it was running at 3 gallons a minute as that would make a noise.

@Lightlyseared The neighbors complained from the noise. So was more than a dribble.

I was in deep sleep, and did not notice.

At least you got a good nights sleep.

The cost of a new flapper . . . the city didn’t charge me for week and a half that the toilet leaked, while I was away. Had to show them either plumber’s bill for repair or receipt for new flapper.

@RedDeerGuy1 It sounds like the landlord was just trying to make you feel bad.
