Do dentists dream about teeth?

Asked by Jeruba (56110points) 2 months ago

Your mission, Jelly friend, should you choose to accept it: next time you see your dentist, ask him or her this question. Please report back.

While you’re at it, see if you can get a grip on any of these:
• If so, are the dreams scary? funny? inspiring?
• What about symbolic teeth, such as picket fences or automobile grilles?
• Do they discuss these things with other dentists?

Thar’s all for now.

What do urologists dream about?

What about gynecologists?

For that matter, podiatrists?

I have to answer this. After I retired I started working part time with a company that moves elderly from their homes to assisted living homes or to other homes. We declutter the stuff first and then move what is necessary and then have auctions.
I started working in April and I have had at least 2 dreams a week of decluttering my house. And my house isn’t even cluttered!
But I have a dentist appointment next month and will ask.

I doubt it. I suspect that dentists compartmentalize their stressful work or at least attempt to.

I was a medical technologist in hospital laboratories for 38 years. An extremely stressful, high pressure and thankless profession. And I don’t recall ever dreaming about biochemistry, hematology, microbiology, immunology, blood banking or drawing patient’s blood. Been retired for nearly 10 years and rarely think about it and never dream about it. It’s like it never happened.
