Why do Snickers bars taste so good? Can I suggest the following article?

Asked by elbanditoroso (33577points) 1 month ago

Given the season (Halloween) and yesterday’s conversation about cake and how it interacts with milk, I feel that a recent article about Snickers (and why they taste so good) is in order.

I plan to run out an buy one this afternoon.

I have fallen off the snickers wagon but have always loved the flavors and texture. They do satisfy when “Hangry”. My forever go to will always be Resse’s PB Cups.

@Forever_Free I’m with you on Reese’s – one of my top 2 or 3. I used to love Heath Bars as well, but they’re harder to find these days.

To me, Snickers are and always have been the pinnacle of candy bar perfection.

Snickers really are awesome, though the chocolate they use is below par IMO. Can you imagine a snickers bar made with Ghirardelli or real UK Cadbury or Lindt?

I can no longer tolerate the sugar rush. (Insert crying face)

Anything with caramel and nuts has me jumping for joy (and not Almond Joy!)

Although they’re not as practical as a Holloweenie treet as the standard Snickbar, Snickers ice cream bars are Sagittarius-A-star irresistible.

I’d love to try a Snickers dark bar.

I am craving ice cream and chocolate now

“Snickers ice cream bars are Sagittarius-A-star irresistible.”
“I’d love to try a Snickers dark bar.”

In your candy-based cosmos, Snickers would be at the center of the Milky Way bar!
I’ve read that Snickers dark matter bars are out of this world. ;-p

Everything tastes great when your starving.

I heard a story of mountain climbers who ate a tub of butter when they were rescued.

Wondering if “Snickers Salad” is just a Midwest potluck thing: Whipped cream, diced apples, and Snickers bars cut in ½ segments.

I grew up in the midwest and never heard of it. But… it’s worth a try.

I use Snickers bars, for emergencies.
I pack them on canoe trips.
It can be a boost for getting through tough times.
I can remember multiple times, being stuck in the swamp in storms. Just chewing on my Snickers, as the storm passes, can make it easier.

Snickers are delicious. I think it’s because it has chocolate, caramel, nougat and peanuts. I’m just trying to think of other candies with both nougat and caramel and nuts and chocolate.

I like Baby Ruth too, another peanut, nougat and chocolate candy, but if I remember correctly Baby Ruth doesn’t have any caramel. The flavor is actually quite different than Snickers.

Another is Peanut Chews. A darker chocolate and not as chewy. A classic from back in the day.

I like the combination of nuts, caramel and chocolate a lot. Turtles are my favorite (pecan, caramel, and chocolate).

@JLeslie Turtles are my favorite too. Russell Stover makes a good version called Pecan Delights.

I like the Demets Turtles for an easy to find brand in the drug stores and supermarkets.

I haven’t tried Russell Stover’s turtles, generally I’m not a fan of their candy. Less than ten miles from me is a huge Russell Stover’s store of all things. It’s a tourist attraction. There aren’t many in the country.
