How long do you think it will be before Vance takes over?

Asked by canidmajor (21583points) 2 weeks ago

Ousted because of mental issues? Promises of pardons? Maybe he’ll orchestrate an assassination, who knows?
I’m guessing about 6 months.

Are you hoping, or fearing?

jca2's avatar

I don’t think Trump’s huge ego will allow it.

Within 24 months. Trump is going downhill fast.

Within a year would be my guess.

It depends on how unhinged the left is. Someone could assassinate Trump before J6. You know…insurrection. Or it could be that Vance fills in as VP for 4 years and then picks up the torch as the Repub candidate in 2028.

Doubtful. Trump campaigned hard, much more than Biden or Harris could have imo. Keep underestimating him though.

Tomorrow I hope.

I think Trump will make it the whole 4 years.

^Definitely!
“Only the good die young.”

He does look worse though.

He’s lost a LOT of weight, and stumbles through most sentences. He repeats himself, a lot, I think in part to remind himself of what he’s talking about. He couldn’t tell the picture of the woman he sexually assaulted, and his ex-wife.
I know America saw Trump miss that garbage truck door handle, whilst looking right at it.
He is LOST, in regards to what Musk is trying to do, and is being played like a fiddle by Elon.

How long until Musk, takes over for Vance?

I think Trump will slowly circle the drain, but I personally can’t see almost any behavior as disqualifying to his supporters.

@Dutchess_III I’m not so sure I’d want that. At least with trump his age is catching up to him. Vance is young = evil that lasts longer.

I hope Trump chokes on a cheeseburger. Vance once hated Trump so I think Vance would be a slight improvement, but it’s like comparing turds. One is solid and one is runny. They both still stink.

Vance is definitely suspect number 1, if something happens to Trump…
Trump knows he’s a two faced, over his head, necessary part of the “game” of current US politics.
Neither of them probably care, for one another.
Vance, might be just a mouthpiece for Trump, so we’ll see how long he can go in that capacity. I suspect he’ll have to help constantly cover up all the crap Trump will get into.
Something tells me, Vance wouldn’t mind becoming POTUS, while the guy he likened to Hitler goes down…

Vance got a very lucky break with being in politics for only two years and now being the second in line to the POTUS. What an amazing rise, so quickly. I’m sure there are many who are jealous, who are thinking they are more deserved (and they may be more deserved) who have served decades in politics who are still on the sidelines.

jca2's avatar

What would be ironic is if Vance ends up getting sick, which I am not wishing on him because I wouldn’t wish it on anyone, but if he ends up getting sick and his meteoric rise is shortened.

seawulf575's avatar

@jca2 His “meteoric rise” in politics is one of the things about him I don’t like. It is too reminiscent of Barack Obama going from community organizer to POTUS in 12 years. That sort of sudden change makes me nervous.

@seawulf575 I heard on the news last night that it was Trump’s sons who were pushing for Vance as VP, because of his appeal to young voters. It’s amazing, also, because Vance was very vocal about being a “never Trumper” last time around, although politicians will say “that’s just politics.”

seawulf575's avatar

@jca2 I can see him appealing to younger people. He also resonates with the working class. His humble beginnings are quite an example of what the American Dream can be.

jca2's avatar

@seawulf575 It should also be an inspiration to others that if you study hard and pull yourself up, you can achieve great things.

^I couldn’t agree more. That attitude seems to be dying in this country. Or maybe strangled, I’m not sure.
