Technically they can feel other peoples emotions without being effected by them.

Many empaths have to recharge alone or in nature or around animals to clear the emotional burden but dark empaths dont need that. Kind of the psychopaths of empaths as they often use emotion to manipulate or control others.

A dark empath seems to be a very intelligent (and evil) narcissist.
Not all narcissists are empathic, so they pounce on other things.
But some of them are empathic.
