If you were Native American, how would you reply to someone who said, "Why don’t you go back to where you came from?"?

Here’s the report.

“KENDRICK, Idaho (AP) — Tensions rose during a bipartisan forum this week after an audience question about discrimination reportedly led an Idaho state senator to angrily tell a Native American candidate to ‘go back where you came from.’”

If you’re not a descendant of someone who crossed the Bering land bridge during the last Ice Age, how would you respond?

I’d say “why don’t you go back to where you came from, paleface?”

If I were born in the state, I’d say “I’m here. This is where I came from”. The statement was an ignorant one to be made.
