Is there a way to check to make sure your texts are being sent?

A friend has Android and she texted her sister-in-law, who didn’t respond, and she texted someone else who didn’t respond. She admits that her relationship with her SIL is not the best so she was open to maybe the SIL purposely didn’t respond, but then when the other person didn’t respond, she got suspicious that it’s the phone.
She moved recently to another state and she had some phone problems, where, when she and I were talking on the phone, it would disconnect, so she is thinking maybe there’s some type of issue with the phone or the service. I think she has Verizon but I’m not sure.
Is there a way for a person to check to see if their texts are all being sent? I suggested she turn the phone off and turn it back on, and she said she did that. I also suggested she text the other person (not the SIL) and ask “hey, I just wanted to make sure you got my text” but I don’t know if she’s open to that. Is there any other way?

You can request a “read receipt” on Android (it’s a setting in Messages) but the person on the other end has the option to NOT send receipt messages back. I turned mine off years ago.
If the person doesn’t want you to know if they read the message, there isn’t an automatic way to inform you. Sort of a privacy thing.
Of course, you can copy yourself (in a group message that includes both you and her) which will let you know that the message entered the phone network, but won’t prove that she received it and/or read it.
Our dog sitter, many years ago, switched from Verizon to Cricket. Big problems with dropped calls and lost texts. It was Cricket !
Have your friend contact customer service for their phone company.
I have android.
I long press a text, 3 verticle dots in the top right corner pop up.
I click on it then click “view details” It tells me when my message was sent, received, and if it was read followed by a time. Ideally the sent and received time is the same.
If they do not have read receipts on, you will only see “sent” and “received” if it does not say received usually that means it has not been delivered.
If she has RCS google messaging turned on, even if the other person has it turned off she should still see 2 circles with checkmarks in them when she taps the message.
1 circle is sent, 2 is delivered, and if they are filled in (if the person has it turned on) it means read. But that is hit or miss because its google messaging, but it is the default on a lot of phones so sharing it anyways.
Hope that makes sense?
My Android always tells me if it wasnt sent in red text by the message. My aunts phone service fails often and primarily hers is the only ones that do that.
I have to jump in in defense of Cricket (owned by AT&T). I’ve had them for over 10 years and have had zero problems. I pay 4 months at a time, then don’t have to worry about if it’s been paid. Wouldn’t switch unless there was a castrophe. Customer service is good, too.
@smudges she and I live in a county with over 350 square miles. Downtown not a problem, but 4 or 5 miles out ZERO !
Last few weeks I’ve noticed an uptick in wireless issues across the board. Kind of weird. PROBABLY ALIENS!!!
@tropical Willie and @all. Small wireless off shoots like Cricket Wireless and Consumer Cellular (my provider) don’t own their own towers and switching stations. They sign roaming agreements with the giants (ATT, Verizon ect) and “rent” their equipment (towers and switching stations.) If you’re experiencing issues it’s really an issue with the big guy’s equipment, but your provider can relay the complaint.
Or it could a problem with the phone itself.
When I was working at CellOne we hounded corporate to put a tower up in this one little town about 10 miles away because the issues were so consistent and constant.
Now I live in that town, right in the biggest problem area and I guess some one fixed it because I have no issues.
@Dutchess_III I. agree that Cricket and others rent space on the the big guys towers but the roaming agreement says the big guys customers have priority on the tower,if the tower is full of AT&T customer, then “Cricket NO Bueno !”
I have had cricket for about 8 years and have never had a problem except about 4 years ago, I bought a new Samsung from Amazon and it wasn’t always making or receiving calls. It was very frustrating for a few weeks, and Cricket blamed the phone, but then they did a system-wide upgrade and voila, no more problems.
Other than that, I’ve been to Alaska, Wyoming, etc and other than the occasional mountainous areas where service wasn’t available, it’s been fine for $30 a month, unlimited data.
911 and emergency calls get priority too @Tropical_Willie. Try *61 then dial your numbers. The *61 makes it a priority call.
PS that’s why I use the big guys as my service provider. Until I hooked up with Consumer Cellular.
I call them immediately after, and ask them if they received my text.
