What are your favorite Christmas Cookies and Desserts?

Asked by cookieman (41880points) 1 day ago from iPhone

Thanksgiving’s all about the pies, but Christmas is more of a cookie, cake, and pastry kind of holiday.

Whether you nosh on some classic butter cookies, a fancy buche de noel, a multi-layered trifle, or some other yummy goodness, you must have some favorites.

Please share them here and, bonus points for a related story or the actual recipe.

@RedDeerGuy1: I’m with ya on the Short Bread and Nog. Never had Plum Pudding — what is that?

I love Bread Pudding too. Which flavor do you like?

RedDeerGuy1's avatar

@cookieman I haven’t had plum pudding in years. It is in a small tin in big box stores.

My mom used to make bread pudding. I don’t know how. I don’t like cinnamon, or apple.

I always wondered what figgy pudding was like. Is it good?

I don’t know what they’re called. It’s basically a strudel that you roll into balls and bake. Then roll in powdered sugar. So yummy! And only at Christmas.
That and someone usually gives me a bix of chocolate covered cherries. Only at Christmas.

I have a recipe for some wicked coffee cake. The results are insanely decadent. I don’t eat the cake, myself, but I make it as gifts for various friends, neighbors, and family members.

Beyond that, my favorite cookie is @cookieman, regardless of the season.

Awww @Love_my_doggie…you say, and apparently make, the sweetest things. ;^)

That coffee cake sounds yummy. Nuts??
