Social Question
Is conservative opposition of all things LGBTQ +, really just aimed at homosexual men?
As public debate, and debate in DC, is occurring in America about the LGBTQ + community, I can’t help but notice a void of outflowing repulsion of homosexual women.
I have not heard conservatives, with concerns about what effect trans people will have on male restrooms, locker rooms, sports, etc.
Just from my experience, I rarely (if ever) run across someone who is fighting to keep lesbians out of the men’s room…
From my experience, I have observed mainly conservatives, and black men, are vehemently opposed to anything remotely homosexual.
A wawa clerk has a hidden camera in his store, and when black men asked for a lighter, he would give them a pink one.
The random pink lighter, infuriated many. Of the ones I watched, most of the men threatened violence or death, and some took to breaking things in the store.
I wanted to bring up the black community, because I believe that they have issues with homo-phobia (in America at least.)
With conservatives, when they talk about a “trans” person, I believe they are mostly thinking of a biological male, identifying as female.
I personally have not heard of almost any mention of lesbians or trans people who were born a biological female as being a problem.
I know that there are religious reasons, for some. For some, it’s just not something they believe has the right to even exist.
In America. In regards to all the polarizing debate on the subject, I have come to the conclusion that this is just plane old homo-phobia.
What are your thoughts on this?
If you oppose LGBTQ + rights, is it a religious thing? That’s perfectly acceptable, to me. Even if I disagree.
I’m attempting to get to the point, of all of this.
Yes. Right-wing social media, many members of the GOP, and Trump, are constantly trying to get people to be afraid of the LGBTQ + community, and they are likely targeting Christians’ general anti-gay framework.
I know there are stories about girls, and hormone treatments, and regret. But they are not the ones I hear raised voices over…
They just made sure, no trans people could use the restroom at the Capitol Building. Obviously, because a trans-person was elected for the first time. So. Mace essentially preemptively attacked this person she’s supposed to be working alongside. It’s also clearly a way of her wanting to appear tough, and loyal to the right.
But it was a statement, by the conservatives, that they don’t want trans people, amongst their ranks.
I am not a homosexual. I am a heterosexual male. But. I’ve had a gay roommate, and I know more than a few people in the LGBTQ + spectrum. To me, their just people. I would like them to treated, as a person.
Another way of asking this question, may be ; if lesbians or females, were the only ones who could be LGBTQ +, but men were all hetero, would there even be a discussion about it?
