Not 114 square meters. 114^2.
12,996 meters?
How does that translate to sq ft?
Multiply by 10.7
104 m2 = 1119 ft2
114 m2=1227 ft2
Im not following you @Smashley.
Shouldn’t the operation be 104×104?
What are you looking for? That is the formula for converting square meters into square feet. Do you need a different number?
Are you asking what 104 meters, times 104 meter is in feet? You can’t really do that since square feet and square meters are measurements of area, while meters and feet measure distance. 104m*104m= 10816m2.
10816 m2 = 116422 ft2
114×114=12,996 meters.
If you are asking to convert 114 sq meters to feet. For example if a house is 114 sq meters, that is 1,227 sq ft.
The numbers are the same as what is given by other jellies above, but written how Americans typically state it regarding area.
@JLeslie 114 square meters would be like the area of a square only 10.67 m x 10.67 m.
@Smashley is correct that conversion from square meters to square feet is 1 = 10.76 (but missed the point about wanting 12,996 m², not 114 m²) so no, if you really meant 114 square meters, that’d be 114×10.76, so about 1227 square feet.
But that is not what @Dutchess_III is trying to ask, as per her first reply to her own question, above.
@Dutchess_III however has a title asking for (104 m)², but a follow-up saying (114 m)², and also 12,996 m² (which is (114 m)² ). BUT then she has a later comment asking about (104 m)²!
So . . .
(104 m)² = 10,816 m² = 116,380 feet² (square feet)
(114 m)² = 12,996 m ² = 139,837 feet² (square feet)
@Zaku Yes, I realize 114 sq m is only 10.67m x 10.67m. I was just thinking it odd to change from m squared to feet so I was not sure what she really wants to know. That is why I wrote it out as I did. I would think the OP knows how to square (power of 2) a number.
@JLeslie Given the high misunderstanding rate in this thread, I thought it might help to add a bunch of hopefully clarifying points.
It seems to me that the most common stumbling block in discussions about square feet, is the lack of clarity in language and/or understanding about what one is actually talking about.
But looking at the Dutchess’ posts, it seems clear (to me, if not to some others here) that she wanted (or, thought she wanted) the square footage of a square area with a particular meter length on a side. But then she listed both 104m and 114m for that side length.
It is 104 meters by 104 meters @JLeslie !
That is 341 feet by 341 feet !!
@Tropical_Willie The OP wrote it is 114^2. So, 374 X 374 or 139,876 sq ft I guess is the answer give or take a few points allowing for conversion inexactness.
104 meters is roughly 114 yards
What is 104 meters SQUARED.
And how many square feet is that?
Yo, girl, it’s up there.
104 meters times 104 meters (this can only be what you mean by 104 meters squared)
is 10816 square meters
Or
116422 square feet
^^ Nailed it.
Dutch – Is there a context to your question or are we just doing your 5th grade math problem? :)
What context? It’s a math problem!
I was just checking my own numbers.
It’s easiest to convert from m to ft before multiplying. And watch your units. Contractors love to call sq ft as ft, just to be quick.
