Have you purchased from Amazon Pharmacy when your drug insurer doesn't have a drug in its formulary?
My Medicare Part D insurer didn’t have a particular drug (Vitamin D high dose) in its formulary – they were giving me a huge runaround about what my options were.
Amazon Pharmacy does have the drug, at an incredibly cheap rate.
I’ve never bought from Amazon Pharmacy before. What’s been your experience with them?

Thanks for posting this. I’m interested to know myself. I didn’t know Amazon has prescription drugs.
Did you try goodrx for your regular pharmacy?
Nope. Not going there. EVER.
Not Mark Cuban’s Cost Plus either.
@JLeslie I’ll let you know. I ordered from them after dinner; should arrive Monday. Stay tuned.
@elbanditoroso It was the prescription D2, or just a high dose OTC, which is usually D3.
Iwouldn’t order from then either. Don’t need Amazon taking over all my life.
@janbb Do you order from Amazon a lot?
What is a formulary? I think I know the answer…their stash…but where did it come from?
@Dutchess_III Each insurance plan has its own formulary, which is also known as a drug list. You can find your formulary on your insurance plan’s website.
Prescription D has never been covered on any of my insurance and I’ve had at least 4 different insurance companies while taking D prescription.
@Dutchess_III The formulary is the list of what drugs they will cover in you prescription plan.
Follow-up: Package arrived by 1-day UPS just a few minutes ago. Aside from the color of the pill container (turquiosish) top, it looked like any other Rx from any other drug store.
Thumbs up.
I asked a similar question on twitter months ago and most people (unhelpfully) replied “just use cost plus pharmacy!”, but a couple of people had used Amazon pharmacy and would recommend it. The prices are just astonishingly low – I bet most people would be surprised.
