How do you feel about Musk given power by Trump after Musk has given Trump millions for his campaign?

Asked by Pandora (32448points) 4 weeks ago

It seems more and more Musk is flexing his muscles and Republicans in Congress are bowing to his wishes. Musk is acting like the VP. Hell the VP has less power than Musk right now. Yet no one voted for Musk. I’m even wondering if maybe he had a deal with Trump to do all the work for him.
All I can say is Musk knew the right President to bribe. I just wonder how many people will be screwed over because of that bribe.

I feel like wondering what trump voters now feel that the trump family business seems to be raking in money and also Musk himself to tune of 250 billion bucks?

The people who voted for him, rich and poor, are rooting for him.

We need to get used to President Musk. He will be a trillionaire by the time his term is over.

It’s shitty and terrifying

Ultimately. It is simply a more public display of what always goes on.
Massive donors, ALWAYS have the sitting POTUS ‘s ears.

If Trump weren’t so shamelessly PUBLICLY parading around with Musk, it wouldn’t be so anomalous.
I’m embarrassed for Trumpers, as this is corruption America has NEVER witnessed so plainly before.
However. I also know his sheep, probably aren’t smart enough to see that their God King has been bought by a South African billionaire…

The misinformation is, of course, that Trump gave Musk any power at all. Influence, maybe. Even influence isn’t really accurate, but it is far closer than power. But let’s look at what Trump asked him to do: co-lead a program outside the government with the purpose of looking at waste, fraud, and abuse in the government. When that program identifies WFA, they make recommendations to correct it. They are an advisory group at best. What they are REALLY doing is shining a light on the government.

^I have definitely seen Trump with Elon, WAY more than Melania, or even Vance.

As always, you cannot spin what is public knowledge.

Trump, is the one who has built this reputation of corruption…

Think about poor JD Vance who was replaced as VP by Musk..

^^Russian singers and dancers? President Musk and his sidekick trump talk a lot with talent manager Putin it seems.

I see Trump as selling the presidency to someone that no one voted for—someone who isn’t bound by any sort of oath, never mind to preserve, protect, and defend the U.S. Constitution.

In exchange for a piece of Musk’s bounty, Musk—who has already achieved enormous successes in major arenas—gets to play in a sandbox that is not only our country but the world. What entertainment for him! What a devastating and demoralizing outcome for us.

Even if he does it well, this is breathtakingly bad for us. Surely even MAGA people can see that?

Meanwhile, has everyone forgotten that Biden is still president? A lot can happen in a month.

Musk is also promoting far right parties in Europe such as the Reform Party in the UK and AfD in Germany, countries where he is not entitled to a single vote.

^^Wonder if Putin promised him riches and access to Russian business world if he helps trump succeed in the US and also if he helps Putin in Europe?

Musk will be a global oligarch, the first trillionaire.

trump and his family would no doubt be racing Musk in getting that title.

“President” Musk. posted on “X” his displeasure with Johnson’s (Speaker of House ) budget for the country, “Pool Boy” Trump echoed much later !

I heard that Musk may buy Trump’s Truth Social for BILLIONS—- – I wonder how that happened ? ? ?

I don’t see either Trump or Musk as a second-fiddle type of guy. We can’t have two kings. This could play out awfully, even if objectively fascinating.

It boils down to the egotist versus the Nazi egotist.

As long as they both make a profit in this job they’ll be happy campers.

Y’all act surprised. This is how it has always worked. It’s just out in the open now which is frankly, more honest than normal.

Bro, we did vote for musk. For corruption and graft in general, and an oligarchy specifically. This is what was promised, and this is what will happen.

I wish zben and Andrew were here so we can get their take on the XTwitter buyout.
I feel it was a chess move.
