General Question
How do I apply the replacement of biblical terms with the ones Mauro Biglino suggests in the Italian Bible to the Peshitta in its English version?
For Italian Bible, I mean the Jerusalem Bible. Maybe I should explain myself.
My interest was born the day I saw a version of the bible on Biglino unofficial dot com (replace the dot and put the other words together). I downloaded an epub version. Inside it was said that, even though it was not sponsored by Biglino, it replaced some key terms like “dio”, “altissimo,” and “eterno” (we’re talking of the Italian Bible, of course) with their original Hebrew terms. You can check them on the official website.
The point is there are two problems:
1) We’re talking of the Jerusalem Bible (I prefer the Peshitta)
2) The Bible in the file I downloaded was in Italian (I prefer English).
What I’m asking you is to list me the necessary steps to replace the same key terms biglino suggested to in the peshitta. In other words, I want an English Peshitta ancient aliens bible. Instead of an ancient aliens jerusalem bible.
I can gather the full text of the peshitta, that is not a problem. But I am a two-year-old to know how to do what I suggested above. Thank you in advance.
If you want to know what the replacements are, here they are in Italian:
- “Elohim” al posto di “Dio”
– “Elyon” al posto di “Altissimo”
– “Yahweh” al posto di “Signore” / “l’Eterno”
– “ruach” al posto di “spirito”
– “kavod” al posto di “gloria”
– “a lungo” / “per molto tempo” al posto di “in eterno” / “per sempre”
