Have you hugged your postman lately?

I just hugged mine. Anthony is the sweetest young postman ever. He asks us about or vacations when we come back from a trip and has helped my neighbors clean off their deck.
I just ran out to give him his Christmas tip and we hugged. It was a lovely moment.
Anyone in your service circle you’d like to give a shout out to on here?

Ever since covid my postmen won’t let me anywhere near them.
Hug, no. But about once a month his is on his route just as I am walking outside, and we shoot the breeze for about 10 minutes.
Last time I talked to him, they had just taken away is ancient boxy jeep-like truck and replaced it with a brand new van (double the capacity) and he was pretty happy that this one had air conditioning and a radio.
No, but I gave her a Christmas thank you card and some money. She’s great. Holds stuff for me without me filling out the forms. Her kids or niece fill in for her sometimes, that might be against the rules.
No, that’s insane…..I’d get punched probably.
No, but I remember their names and usually thank them whenever I’m nearby as they’re delivering.
It’s not personal the way it used to be, though. Some don’t even turn around or wave when I thank their retreating back. Also these days we may have a different one every day of a given week. And the current one jams mail into our box in wads, catalogs and ad newspapers, instead of protecting the envelopes. Or he leaves the envelopes (the important stuff) sticking out of the mailbox so it’s easily stolen (and has been, once including a $900 check). I don’t thank him.
We haven’t had a regular person in a long time. Sad face.
Our delightful postman, of at least several decades, retired last year. Since then, we’ve had several floaters who deliver our mail on any given day. The various people are nice enough, but they can’t fill the shoes of that wonderful gentleman.
I adore my postman. He stopped my moms mail after two years of her being passed to spare my feelings.
I always get him and my trash man a gift. No hugs though.
The last paragraph of my details was trying to expand the post beyond just mailmen to other service people.
We give him fruits a vegetables very often.
On Halloween he brought mail to our door. I thought it was an early trick or treater. So I ran to the door with a bowl of candy. He took a Reese’s peanut butter cup. HA!
No but Will (our Postal person) got his “just in case my DIL sends an item with postage due – - wink wink” $20.00 ! I have done that for all the years; we have lived in North Carolina. Oh we do get “postage due” items and the go in my mailbox with his initials !
They do not have time to get hugged.
