What has made you smile this holiday season?

Asked by JLeslie (65857points) 1 month ago from iPhone

I’m in the facebook group View From YOUR Window and it is full of photos of Christmas trees and Chanukah Menorahs with well wished from cities around the globe.

A post of a Christmas Tree from a member in Syria with Merry Christmas and in responses a wish of peace from Israel, the US, Canada, a long long list of warm and wonderful responses and interactions.

Many have posted Merry Christmas and holiday decorations from all over the world with hundreds and thousands of responses.

Chanukah Menorahs posted from various cities in Sweden, US, Israel, Mexico, England, and many more with hundreds of responses from around the world, and even some people asking about the holiday, curious and interested if they are unfamiliar with it.

Such a lovely group not only capturing the holiday fixtures and ornaments, but also the view beyond the window.

One person on vacation in Mexico made a menorah out of aluminum foil for the base and Corona beer bottle caps to hold the candles. Lol.

Video chatting with my French grandsons on Christmas Day.

We went for a walk on Christmas Day and my grandson had a thing about finding drains by the side of the road and checking if they contained “watine”, his word for water. His little sister is only a year and a half old and she too began running excitedly from drain to drain looking for “watine”. It was quite amusing.

Anonymously I gave a toy CyberTruck to a small boy (about 5 or 6 years old) at a Christmas party. He started jumping for joy like it was the greatest thing ever.

My inlaws left our house today :)

^^Lmao. I was so happy to come home from the inlaws this time. I’ve been ruminating about not going to Christmas next year. I hope I remember.

@gondwanalon Sounds awesome!

Some cute cards that I got made me smile, and seeing photo cards of friends’ kids, how they grow up is always amazing to see.

^^ oh my goodness…wish I had one!! Is she crawling yet? Last time you were together she was getting very close.

^^ We went down to their house 2 weekends ago and she was just figuring out crawling. Now, just 2 weeks later she is crawling, sitting up, digging her Johnny Jump Up (and she goes nuts jumping in it), she is starting on her 3rd or 4th tooth…and she always greets me with a big smile, laughs with me when I laugh and clicks her tongue at me if she wants my attention. To be fair, I click my tongue at her to get her attention and we will sometimes do a duet with tongue clicks.
