Wondering if it’s a planet? The rest of the sky was dark here (NE USA.)

I guessed it might be Venus but it was below it on the right when I saw it.

Venus!!!!! I love it

The planet is cloudy and reflects light back to us, so it is very bright.

The brightest “star” is usually Jupiter or Venus

I used to have a horse that was boarded at Tamarack farmzs in Derby,Kansas. I think I was in 8th grade.
I quickly made a riding partner friend, Susie.
She had a horse named Venus.
She pointed out the “star” (planet) Venus to me, off the tip of the moon.
And that, Oh Best Beloved, is how I know Venus when I see it.
Not everything I learned was learned in school.

Most likely Venus…

I don’t want to derail so soon, but has anyone else thought that the Orion constellation is listing? This winter, it’s been like rotated counter clockwise a good bit. It looks more normal closer to 2–3 AM.
It was broken again tonight…

Space dot com – January 11, 2025 – How to see a ‘planet parade’ of 4 bright planets in January’s night sky

“Four bright planets are visible together in the night sky this month in what NASA calls a “planetary parade” that is a must-see for stargazers.

“Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn will each take a star turn in the night sky in January (Mars will be its closest to Earth of the year this weekend), so if you’re wondering what some of the more striking bright “stars” in the sky are this month, they may actually be planets”
