Have you ever lost your temper at work and not gotten fired?
What are the rules on being human at work?
I knew someone who lost their temper
feqently at the boss and kept her job.
What are my rights at work to be human?
Humor and serious answers welcome.

The most I have done is tell someone that something was “none of their damn business” but that is it.
Numerous times. A long time ago some coworkers decided to play a prank on me, by trying to tie a noose around my neck.
So I threw an axe in their direction, but not at them directly.
So obviously we both get in trouble and we were basically separated for awhile.
Okay, but well deserved because what the fuck. Well deserved as in, I would have thrown something at them also. That isn’t even a prank.
@Blackberry
If I was your boss, those racist aholes would have been terminated on the spot.
As far as you throwing the axe goes, I would have told you to work on your aim. ;-)
Yes, at my most recent job where I no longer work, but for a different reason. I worked on the loading dock at a hospital as a receiving clerk. Our department had about twelve people. Every morning we had a huddle to discuss the day or issues that have come up. A female coworker was very rude to me and another employee every day so I brought it up in the meeting. She began yelling at us and my boss let her continue on. I was flabbergasted. I had never experienced that type of hostility in the workplace. I started to have a panic attack so I quickly grabbed my things, muttered how I had never been so disrespected at work and left. Coincidentally I had scheduled the following day off. I received a text from my boss stating to take Monday off and he would allow me to return if I wanted to.
I went back until I was injured a couple months later and ended up on workman’s comp. I was glad to be out of that toxic environment.
I lost my temper at work and quit. So technically I wasn’t fired. Does that count?
Our boss was verbally abusing his wife again and I couldn’t take it anymore. Me and several coworkers told him off and quit.
In retrospect, I wish we hadn’t done that. Because I’m guessing it just got worse when they got home.
Sometimes I think about her and hope she’s okay.
@Blackberry +1 for wishing your aim had been different. Maybe not fatal, but like a big toe would have been satisfying. And they’d have to explain how they lost a toe for the rest of their life.
Ugh, sorry that sucks @jonsblond
