Why can't I see twice as good when I put on two pairs of glasses?

Because glasses don’t amplify your vision. They correct it. That’s why everyone who wears glasses needs a prescription that is specific to them.

It refracts the warp in your cornea that causes astigmatism.
In your case it would over warp.

Bad eyesight is like a bent metal rod. A pair of glasses straightens it out. A second pair of glasses is bending it again.
