Do you think Trump is smart enough to rescind the tariffs before it turns into a recession?

I think that Trump will lower the tarrifs to 10% . To appear that he gave a compromise.

I don’t want to jinx it.

He might start invasions of Panama/Greenland/Canada to distract from it.

By the time Trump figures out it was a bad idea, the damage will be done because companies have invested in inventory that has tariffs to be paid by the consumer.

LOL no. But Biden wasn’t smart enough to retract the old Trump tariffs.

I saw on the news yesterday that he was already starting to walk back on the tariffs somewhat, even if he didn’t announce it where his idolaters could hear it. Somebody probably convinced him that it was going to go badly for our economy if he did it and then he would look bad compared to Biden.

If the con man was actually in charge, I would say no, but he is mostly a puppet.

THE problem is that a POTUS, is supposed to have advisors, experts, generals, and any number of checks and balances, because NO president knows everything.
In Trump’s first term, he developed a pattern of firing his advisors and those who were supposed to combine with him, to serve the people.
This time. Trump didn’t even nominate a cabinet member, if he thought they would EVER try to disagree with him…

As with most things Trump says, there is a massive difference between saying it, and realistically implementing it.

If Obama endorsed the tariffs, Trump would likely not go forward with them at all…
