May I wish you a Happy Lunar New Year (2025)
It may be silly, but it’s actually the first day of New Year for me. I’m enjoying my holiday with my family and spending some time for myself after all the responsibility.
Would you like to join the fun?

I am a snake. This is my year.
Happy Lunar New Year everyone!
Mimi, what is the party like? What kind of foods does everyone eat?
@jca2 I am now out of town at my grandma’s house. There was a concert/firework show that a few of us went out to see yesterday. Today was just a day for us to do our rituals, go to religious places or just stay home. Very few businesses are open right now.
We have sticky rice cake as the “traditional” food but in reality we just eat whatever we want. Today I have oysters for lunch :D
Chúc mừng năm mới!
Chúc, em, sức khỏe—and lots of delicious food!
That question came up in my Questions for you page^^^ The 2024 one. I was confused.
Happy new year :)
@Brian when I asked this question Fluther sent me to that old question. I was confused too and thought my question wasn’t accepted so I made this one. Turned out Dr. jelly really thought the old question was a new one :D
I don’t blame anyone who is confused.
@Mimishu1995 “when I asked this question Fluther sent me to that old question”
<——Wow- even Fluther was disoriented by the green time tornado! ;-o
BTW- looking forward to your big THREE ZERO!
To clarify, it is the ASIAN lunar year.
The Islamic lunar new year is the first day of Muharram, which in 2025 will be on June 25 or 26. Last year it was June 4.
The Jewish calendar, which is a lunar calendar, begins on 1 Tishrei, which in 2025 will be on September 22. Last year it was a 13-month Jewish year, which meant that Rosh Hashanah was on October 2.
