Has anyone survived rabies without the 13 needles in the stomach?

It’s a death sentence. Survival is exceedingly rare without prompt treatment.

What’s with the 13 needles?

@Jeruba In the 80’s the news kept saying that at the time 13 needles in the stomach was the only treatment for rabies.

It’s not that many shots any more.

No. It’s a post exposure prophylactic vaccine series. I think three shots but you can look it up. And they were never in the liver.
