What is your favorite weather kind of day?

Asked by chyna (51798points) 1 month ago

Sunny, snowy or whatever. And I understand it would depend on your mood. Tell me about your favorite days and why.

I like fog. It’s scary and fun at the same time. And so very quiet.

I like an overcast day. Not too cold. Maybe 70 degrees would be perfect.

@jca2 Me too. My home is in the PNW where we have a lot of cloudy days and have relatively mild winters. I can handle the heat pretty well but not direct sunlight (which can be brutal on my skin).

A cool summer day, after a light rain and people mowing their lawns. The cool air, smell of rain and freshly cut grass is such a vibe.

I do love the sun and heat, but a stormy day is my favorite. Spring in the Ozarks is not only gorgeous but dangerous.

Hot and sunny, clear….not a cloud in the sky! Give it to me now, or I’m going to get really mad.

Sunshowers.

Sunny, with a few harmless clouds in the middle of the day. High in the low 80’s, and a low at night of mid 60’s to low 70’s. I live in Florida, so I get that about half of the year. I like how it feels, I like being able to wear sandals and light clothing, I like the option to go swimming. I like the driving conditions. I like having my house open for fresh air part of the day. I like being able to eat outside. I like not spending a fortune on heating and cooling. I like being able to do a tourist thing on a whim.

I am looking forward to that first day of early spring, no wind, sunny enough to sit outside with my head back, basking in that sun-heat, that primal, animal sensation of natural warmth.

While I enjoy a nice sunny day with a light breeze and a temperature of about 75F (24 C), I really like dramatic weather. Strong winds, booming thunderstorms with a great light show…these things can replace TV for me.

@seawulf575 Same! Mother Nature in all her glory.

Bluebird sky so bright,
Skiing, hiking, or the shore,
It makes my day right.

@KNOWITALL It is so much fun! BTW…congrats on passing 30k!

Sunny, 75–80 degrees, crystal clear and almost no humidity.

70–75 degrees and bright sun in September/October. Leaves starting to turn, tourists gone from the boardwalk. But I also love those first warm days in April, a good silent snow storm in January and a summer thunderstorm with lightning.

Overcast and cool. I live in the wrong part of the country. ;)

It depends a lot on if I have to go anywhere or not. If I have a day where I can stay home the whole time, I like anything from blizzard-y conditions to thunderstorms and pouring rain. But if I have to go out, I prefer a mild day that’s not humid and it can be sunny or even better, partly sunny since sunshine being too bright bothers my eyes.

My other favorite would be a nice, sunny dry day, about 80 degrees, like a typical May, June or September day around here. I love to lay on the deck, under the umbrella, so not for tanning but just to look at the lake and relax with a book or magazine. The cats love when I prop the door open so they can go in and out, and sometimes I’ll wave at a neighbor who may be passing. I’ll have a glass of Diet Coke and maybe some grapes or something, too.

I love this question.
My favourite kind of day happens mostly in autumn. Where the sun is golden and warm but the air is cold enough to turn your cheeks pink and the tip of your nose cold. But it’s fresh, and the air is slightly damp, and you can turn your face to the sun to warm it up.

Aside from this I also appreciate warm summer days with a cool breeze. Not hot, just warm. Where you can sit in the sun for long periods of time without it feeling too intense.

Thank you @MilkyWay. That brought such a vivid picture to my mind.
