What do you think about this information regarding Mahmoud Khalil?

Khalil was arrested by ICE and is being detained, he is accused of being aligned with Hamas. He was part of the demonstrations at Columbia University regarding Gaza.

He’s Syrian in the US currently on a Green Card, but at the time of the protests on Columbia campus he was in the US on a student visa. I assume he now has a Green Card that is attached to being married to an American. I don’t know how long ago he got married or how long ago he was issued a green card, but from what I understand his wife is 9 months pregnant. As I said, my research shows he had a student visa on Oct 7th, 2023 and either part or all of the time during the protests.

Many people are very upset he was arrested and feel it is Trump’s administration trying to quiet people from speaking out, take away the public’s right of freedom of speech and feel safe in voicing disagreement with people in power. An understandable concern that I share, but I find myself wanting to know more detail about Khalil before making a decision.

This video is done by someone who is pro-Israel, I would say biased, he is Israeli, American, and Jewish. He is not anti-Arab.

The beginning he is basically saying deport Khalil, but if you get past that you will see the clips for yourself.
