What movies employ "rape by deception" as a plot point?

The “rape by deception” is a generic term indicating a person who lies to another person in order to have sex with him. It could be being single, or being a woman when you’re a man, or something like that.

In any case, I’m sorry to say, (because I agree with) it’s something not recognized by many states in the US, or in fact in the world. You can check more here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rape_by_deception

This is not considered a crime because the burdens is placed on the person lied to, not to the liar. I’m of the opinion it should, because many people are not informed of their rights and duties, (like me), and, here at least, the law should protect them.

In the recent Fallout show, the main character is wedded to a man from another vault under the belief that he is in fact a vault dweller, but in fact he was a raider from the surface.

@ragingloli Is that show any good?

@Caravanfan
It is pretty good, if you are into dark humour.

Let’s see . . . well,

In To Catch a Thief, the main characters get an implied-sex fireworks scene, when he’s impersonating a protector from an insurance company (IIRC), not a jewel thief trying to catch another jewel thief.

In From Russia With Love, the main characters are both spies on missions with love as a pretext.

In Excalibur, Merlin casts a spell to make Uther Pendragon look like the Duke of Cornwall so he can sleep with his lady Igrayne, siring Arthur, eventual King of the Britons.

In Kick Ass, the main character lets his love interest think he’s gay in order to befriend her, while also using his secret identity as a masked vigilante to interfere in her relationship with another guy, and ultimately make a move on her.

In some (many? all?) the Alien/Aliens films, there’s deception involved trying to one way or another get human women to have alien babies.

My Fair Lady is about trying to get courtiers to believe a low-born woman is high-born and desirable, concealing her actual background.

(FWIW, it seems to me like a pretty odd concept, because it seems to assert that sex becomes rape if a party employs deception, to include omitting information? Because it seems to me that many people have sex with very incomplete information. And I don’t necessarily agree everyone has a right to complete information on anything that might influence their choices, or else it might be considered a lie by omission, let alone rape. q.v. Eliza Doolittle.)

@Zaku Very nice list. From Russia With Love is a great pull for this thread.
