If you have ever named a pet after food, what did you call them?
In recent days, with a number of different people, this topic has come up, so I got curious. My current dog is a blue merle Aussie named Rocky, short for Roquefort. He really does kinda look like moldy cheese. My friends have a couple of golden retrievers called Brandy and Cheddar.
Seems like a thing.
You?

I had a Fruity and a Chocolate.
One of my cats was named “pepper” (a spice), and had a gerbil named Huckleberry. His name was bigger than he was.
My brother had a miniature horse named cocoa.
My dog Peaches is the color of a very ripe peach when cut open.
You cut open your dog??? (Ba dum chaaa!) ;-D
I named by rabbit “rabbit” before I ate it.
<—I guess I could call her Oreo.
I named a gray and white kitten Pepper, and we had an orange feline rascal named Huckleberry, although we were thinking of Mark Twain’s character and not of a food.
We had a calico cat named Heavenly Hash
Another male cat white with blue eyes. Called Vanilla – - vet said he would go deaf, never happened. He had a gray spot between his ears on the top of his head the size of a peppercorn, so he wasn’t an albino.
When I was in kindergarten, we had just moved to a new state. I told the kids at school that I had a pony back in S.D. named Licorice. They were appropriately impressed. :D
Did you actually have a pony? I always wanted (rather impractically) a pony. :-)
^^ Nope, but I’ve always wanted a horse. Back then I would have given up my teeth to have a pony! Bah! Who needs teeth, right?
We had a black and white cat, who we adopted as part of a trio of brothers, and named him Oreo.
We had a cocker spaniel named Waffles. I named her for her coloring.
We had a dog named biscuit when I was a kid.
