I must admit there are a few words out there that I can’t help but giggle when I hear/say them. I’m curious what other peoples would be. The most random one for me is foam

I always kinda liked girdle.
It doesn’t make me laugh, but I absolutely love the feeling in the back of my throat when I say “the brittle glass crumbled and shattered.”
haha yeah spoon is one for me too!
Slippage. Immature, I know, but say try and say it without smiling… =P
pussyfootin. Lolligaging.
fart
scallywag
poopsicle (yes, poop)
pickle
when my boyfriend was little when he’d get good and mad at someone, he’d call them a “fartcar dirtbag” and I get giggling every time I think of it.
* discombobulated
* googol (not to be confused with Google)
* and in general, using contractions in perfectly valid but non-standard ways (“I’ve not” instead of “I haven’t”, for example)
Thingamajigger
Whatchamacallit
(my grandma had a knack for using these)
So, it’s not funny at all, but for some reason I’ve been meaning to giggle every time I hear the term: Cron job.
Unfortunately if you hang out with geeks, you’ll hear it often.
well, since poop has already been taken, how about “inopportune anal seepage”? I know it’s a phrase, but the fact that it was actually on a bag of Olestra-ridden potato chips as a possible side effect is hilarious!

ballyhoo,
frakis
brouhaha
snorkle
hornswoggle
smegma
hoosegow

As a follow up to bluemukaki’s, ‘winkie’.

I love the word grunge. It sounds so gravelly. I like gravelly too, it sounds so grungey….
I love smeg. Great word, encompasses so many things (you need to be a smeghead to understand that one). And that’s another one, encompasses, it sounds almost delicious to me, ooh another one, delicious, which then brings me to one of my most favourite words, lush, and then the last one, decadent.
I happen to have a collection. I think the very idea of funny words is funny, and I think that whatever makes us giggle at funny words comes very close to the heart of what’s good in our species. Here’s a sampling of specimens I’ve gathered:
affidavit
awkward
baffle
blob
bubble
cockamamie
dabble
dollop
fib
filibuster
flabbergasted
flibbertigibbet
flummox

Ooh, I rather like bunyip. Forgot to add that one.
