I am, as always in the post season, very conflicted. Having grown up in Western MA, it was almost a 50/50 split between Sox fans and Yankee fans. I’m on the Yankees side. Now that my team is out of the post season, and the Sox aren’t…. what do I do? Do I root against the Red Sox, as “my” team’s hated enemy? Or do I root for them, as they are the team of my home state, and the majority of my family’s team?
Sigh….. I don’t know whether or not I want them to win. Maybe I just want them to win and get to the WS, and for Joe Torre’s Dodgers to get there as well. THAT would be a fun series for me to watch!
Brewers v. Phillies. Yovanni v. Hamels. CC v. Meyers. Go Brewers.
No. I can’t wait for basketball!
But… Go, Phillies!!
Sox, Phillies, Dodgers…......wait, wait, I’m in Seattle where we lost, what, something like a thousand games or something.
Can’t wait to see the red sox to fail in the first round.
First time in my life, I’m rooting for Tampa.
@MrItty: where in western MA? Must be very far West, like Pittsfield or something, because I’m from the Northampton area, and there weren’t no Yankee fans there.
Go Phillies!
Born and raised in Agawam, MA, near Springfield.
I was actually in Northhampton last week (my g/f lives in Sunderland), and I was not the only one wearing a Yankees tshirt. So there! :-P
Go Yankees! Oh… Nevermind.
As long as the Red Sox lose, I’m happy.
cubs fan right here baby!
@MrItty: I guess I’ve been in Philly too long. We mug anyone wearing the opposing teams colors. I thought that feeling was universal about the Red Sox, too, in New England.
Go Brewers. I have to say it now because I wont be able to for long.

A Red Sox and Yankees fan!?
It’s like a freak of nature!
Whoo hoo! Cubs/White Sox World Series!!
Go Cubbies!
LET’S GO RED SOX!!! (I have tickets to game four of the second series, so they have to beat the Angels!
I don’t miss Manny. He was a spoiled brat and it was DEFINITELY time to move on. Too bad we couldn’t get rid of him earlier. I liked him at one time. But when he stopped playing, knocked down an older guy from the Red Sox and started talking trash, it was ‘don’t let the door hit you in the ass on the way out.”
You miss him doing what? Throwing a hissy fit and not taking the bat off his shoulders when the manager uses him as a pinch hitter?
He’s a gigantic crybaby who doesn’t deserve anyone’s respect or admiration. You’re better off without him. I feel sorry for Joe Torre.
I miss his ridiculous Manny-ness.
Well, my Brewers showed exactly why they had to rely on the wild card system to get where they are.
Bad fielding in a bobbled ball, missed first base catch and a dropped out field ball. BAM.
Phillies 3
Brewers 1
@Bri L: so what’s the deal with your pitcher today? I’m getting the sense people think he’s the next best thing to God!
he has a 5 and 2 record with a 1.72 era. I don’t really know. I am not a maniac when it comes to stats and all. If it isn’t obvious, I won’t catch it.
“GO RED SOX!”
Can NOT wait for tonight’s game, series all tied up!
But not for long….............................
GO SOX!!!! Game 7 wasn’t on the horizon for the Rays….Not to take anything away from them though – I mean they have played neck and neck with the World Series Champs all year.
I couldn’t care less who wins the World Series, as long as it isn’t Boston.
But “BOSTON” is the best!
