Is there anyway to log into IRC annonymously?

I use the TOR network to surf anonymously on the web with a Firefox extension, but is there anything similar to that for IRC so people cant detect my IP? (Im on a mac)

If you are using TOR, IRC should run through that as well. You shouldn;t need anything additional.
