Any recommendations for a solid Drum Kit under $700?

I’ve been playing music for a long time, including drums but I’ve never actually OWNED my own kit. And I’ll admit when it comes to drum manufacturers and models I’m not too saavy. I’m looking to spend less than $700 if at all possible. So far I’ve been pointed at Pearl, like a forum 5 piece kit. Any input or suggestions would be appreciated.

PS I’m not a fan of buying instruments on craig’s list or ebay. I’ve had bad experiences, so i’m talking retail prices.
