What is the significance of your Fluther name / what does it mean?

I am the one and only squirbel on the net. I’m sure that because I’ve said this someone will try to start registering as squirbel to ruin this claim, but I’ve tried to register everywhere…

I received the name “squirbel” from my younger brother – when we were little, he was teasing me about my smile…

When I smile, my cheeks contort so that they are like little balls on my cheekbones… and he said I looked like a rodent with nuts in her cheeks. He couldn’t decide if I looked like a squirrel, or a gerbil….

so….

…squirbel is the best he could come up with. And I actually liked it and stole it as my screenname for aol.

I used this name on another site. Originally I was going as Pixie Dust after years of wanting to be the first to register on a site with that name and never quite making it. I mean, at some point it was more a challenge than anything else. After successfully registering there as Pixie Dust, I answered a question about my favorite historical figure (Emperor Norton I) and the asker suggested I change to EmpressPixie.

I did and I’ve been EP on any site that my friends from that site might be on ever since.

Katawa is actually the name of a character of a book I started to write (but haven’t had time to work on) and Grey is the name of the clan she belongs to. I just think she’s really cool because she can fly so I decided to use her as my fluther name (and my handle damn near everywhere else). Also, as Squirbel said, no one else is called KatawaGrey anywhere, so it’s guaranteed unique.

It was a lame and lazy effort to combine what I do for a living and my current hobby soapmaking. I should have put a little more thought in to it. Its like years ago when we were heavy in to vintage trailer restoration, I took up this moniker of Trailerdiva and I can’t shake it now. People think I live in a single wide or something (not that there’s anything wrong with that!).

My name is Sueanne and when I registered here I was feeling fabulous and a bit tremendous. Since t-r-e are the first three letters of my real last name I decided to go with tremendous.

By the way, if the option were open I probably would have changed it to something a little less….ummm…pretentious?

Name i used to use on halo pc years ago. me and my friends started a clan called ”über” and well i was batman(wonder why) and the name just stuck. Ive been using it for pretty much everything online since than.

“Knot my day” is an as-yet-unreleased album. By a great band.

It’s made from my real name, which I’ve been using as an online handle for longer than some Flutherers have been alive.

A variation of my nickname. I’m quite short and a few years ago I was about a head and a half shorter than my best friend at the time. I was teasing her and called her a tree, and she called me a shrub, and it just kind of stuck. Tree never stuck to her, though. By the next year I was Shrub to everyone except a couple of people I was friends with before then, and my family. Classmates would even tell my teachers to call me Shrub, so that’s what I am. Shrubbery is the variation that the friend who told me about this site calls me. Some other variations include Shrubbie, Shrubster, Shrüb, Shrublet, and Shrubber-Duckie.

Mine is my real name. I’m afraid I wasn’t very creative. If I had picked a different one it would probably have been allayluffsyou which is what I’ve used other places. “Allay” being my nickname (one of them), “luffs” being another way of saying “loves” and “you” being… YOU.

Sueanne, I went to a quiz night tonight and one of the questions was write down four words ending in “dous”. I thought of you and wrote tremendous :)

Mine is the name of my company… Although I can’t tell you how many private messages asking me why I’m not naked in any of my pictures, haha!
