I tinkered with it but did not like it so I am sticking with xp
i installed it when it first came out just to see what the hype was all about
after a week of the annoying "Allow/ Deny" i switched back to the more stable Windows XP
I used it for a brief stint. It looks pretty, but overall, the cons outweigh the benefits...
Unless you are interested in DX10 games and have a beast of a PC to handle the visual elements of Vista with ease, don't bother.
That said, SP1 is lurking around the corner, but I'd wait to see if it actually solves anything before upgrading.
The "annoying Allow/Deny" thing is fixable. To be perfectly honest I haven't experienced any problems with Vista. It is a little underwhelming but then again it's hard to reinvent the wheel. I have Vista Ultimate. I wanted to get Ultimate because I didn't want to buy a watered down version of Vista...and I like DreamScene alot. I'm happy with it...but I also have a computer that can handle anything Vista could ever throw at it.
I also fixed the “annoying allow/deny thing” however I still find there are annoyances with Vista that I didn’t have with XP. Slow speed and frequent video driver crashes mainly. Here is an article which details some differences – although it has been written in an amusing style I tend to agree with what it says.
