What about that in the past, it has taken repeated attempts over a four year period to remove names? Is it a coincidence that is is happening in the swing states? Will this be the hanging chad of the 08 election?

Didn’t I hear that it affected voters of both parties? If that’s the case, it seems like an honest error. In either case, it needs to be rectified immediately.
The problem, I heard is that it is going to mainly affect newly registered voters, who will overwhelmingly be voting democrat.
Given McCain’s desperation I don’t think he is likely to go down with grace. I think both the purging of duly certified voters and fraudulent voters will be an issue.
What I don’t get is:
In 2004, election officials every knew 2008 would be an election year. Why is all of this happening so close to the voting day?, and
Why is either party involved in voter registration anyway? Seems to me it would be dead simple to do this via driver’s license. When you reach voting age, you get a license with a chip. When you walk into a polling station, you swipe your card which sends a reply to the official at the desk in front of you saying yea or nay. (In BC, people who don’t drive can still go to the DMV and get picture id)
