I absolutely adore House and The Office. Brotherhood on Showtime is pretty awesome, too.

i really like studio 60 on the sunset strip. and i just heard it might get cancelled- arggh!! probably because it's too smart for the average american viewer

The Sheild is surpisingly good (good story, great acting).

People keep talking about Battlestar Galactica, though I haven't seen it. I tend to go back to pre-now shows: especially Arrested Development.

Studio 60, which I like, just got picked up for the rest of the season, so it's no longer in immediate danger of being cancelled.

I highly recommend Battlestar Galactica.

Desperate Housewives.

I'm a HUGE fan of Law & Order: Criminal Intent. But that's probably because I have a HUGE crush on Vincent D'Onofrio.

Battlestar Galactica. not just for nerds. watch it from season 1 (actually there's a miniseries you should catch. you will not be dissapointed. if you like things that are good. if not, i can't help you

Veronica Mars is in its third excellent season. It's the one show I make sure to watch immediately every week rather than waiting to skip the commercials.

Will I like Battlestar Galactica even though I'm not much of a Sci Fi fan?
opera_critique's avatar
yes imagine401 Battlestar is excellent - sci-fi fan or no.
opera_critique's avatar
But I suggest starting from the first season

and giving it 3 or 4 episodes before you give up

Right now in the midst of this season, I find it a bit sci-fi heavy

My vote though - Studio 60 and Veronica Mars

Heroes is also surprisingly good

I really like House. And I'm currently addicted to Grey's Anatomy.

Definitely Veronica Mars. And Drawn Together if you like sick humor!

The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.

Battlestar Galactica. Best cinematography(?), it really is filmed like a movie. And like Sandeep said, it's not just for nerds/sci-fi people. The show relies on a strong plot with highly developed characters focusing on "the human element". Episodes will often bring a lil' tear to my eye(s). *sniff*

Heroes is addicting, as well as The 4400 on USA. both original shows

Depending on what kind of television your looking for…gay television, Dante’s Cove is actually the best out there. For regular networks (public TV), I would say Heroes or Gossip Girl, but that entirely depend on your interests.

Dexter.. Your friendly neighborhood serial killer ;)

The Office (http://www.edhelms.org) because it’s a great combination of hilarious writers and an amazing cast. I love Ed Helms, of course, but John Krasinski, Jenna Fisher, and Oscar Nunez totally win me over too.

Right now? I think there is a M*A*S*H re-run that I’d probably watch. I’d answer with something if I had been here sooner…

I’m a few years late but survivor is good

Dexter, for my money is the best show on TV. All of the characters are brilliantly complex. The plot never goes where it looks like it’s heading. The acting is wonderful. It’s got humor and pathos and intrigue and lots of blood.
