i want to sell tamales, as i said before, but we want to start offering them door by door in the neighborhood first and see how it goes…. So, do you want some tamales? LOL, just want to now if you’d bought them.

I pray every day that someone would knock on my door selling freshly baked chocolate chip cookies (with walnuts).
The Jehovah’s Witnesses are selling food now?
I would only do so from someone I know from the neighborhood and then only for fund raiser or charity. it would have to be prepackaged, just like the Halloween candy rule.
AC, im not Jehovah’s witness, just want to make some extra money ;)
No. I only meant that that’s who normally knocks at my door.
Quisiera tomar un tamal de queso, pera sin manteca. Soy vegeteriano.
I might place an order for some, but if you had the actual food at the time you knocked on my door? No way, especially if I don’t know you.
You probably need to check the rules for doing that in your area. Do they have to be prepared in a commercial kitchen? What kind of labelling laws are there? You could get in big trouble without proper licenses, etc. with a food product.
only if its safely packaged.
I love tamales and would want to buy some, but would likely not if I didn’t know you. On the other hand, read how Paula Dean started. It was fairly similar.
Only from children selling outrageously priced low-quality cookies and candy.
I never answer the door for someone I don’t recognize, to be honest.
I’d prob not buy food from any random stranger who knocks on my door myself, unless its a pizza delievery person and I ordered pizza. however i have seen people buy food, usually frozen foods like steaks, from random people who stop by your house to sell you food. You’d prob do ok if you start in your neighborhood, maybe you know your neighbors better than I know mine. and that could lead way to more business, word of mouth is a good advertisement.
If I see you enough times may be I will get some eventually. I will buy from street vendors in a heartbeat. You do need a licence to sell food on the street though.
Is there jail time if you get busted selling illegal tamales? ;)
We buy from every kid selling every annoying thing that walks by our door. Wait, no, that was my parents. I don’t live there anymore. Um, you can’t get to my door and I’m not letting anyone into the courtyard I’m not expecting.
But seriously—my parents always buy SOMETHING from anyone going door to door. It is their policy.
People actually walk around my neighborhood selling Mexican corn out of shopping carts…..
