Asked by queenzboulevard (2553points) October 15th, 2008

I have a professor that says that 1% of the world sees one day of higher education. One percent of 6 bil is 60 mil. Is this guy bullcrapping?

I’ve no clue…I know many people SHOULD seek higher education.

I think it depends a lot on finances and family responsibilities.

Well, to answer the first part of your question about American educational levels:

The percentage of persons with a Bachelor’s degree or higher increased from roughly 5% in 1950, to today’s high of 27.2%

As for the world – I can’t find much in the way of facts.

The number that have attended college (that is the way the question was worded) was 52% of the population in 2004.Source
