Does anyone else ever shake uncontrollably when they wake up too early?
This rarely ever happens, but it seems like whenever I have to wake up extra early, I shiver really hard (I don’t know how else to describe it), but it’s not because I’m cold. This really only happens when I need to be up at some crazy hour like 4am for a road trip or something, and it goes away after 30–60 minutes. I just can’t stop shaking for at least that first 1/2 hour. Has anyone else experienced this? What causes it?

This has never happened to me. I’ve had to wake up at an ungodly hour like 2, 3, 4a to get to airports for long trips before, but waking up early has never been accompanied by uncontrollable shaking.
I have and its scary. It hardly ever happens but when it does it’s scary.
You should probably visit a doctor ASAP.
it’s not that serious. In fact, it’s not serious at all. It’s a side effect of exhaustion, I imagine.
It sounds sort of like low blood pressure, but I’m not sure why it would only happen in the middle of the night. It also kind of reminds me of a description of Out of Body experiences that I read a long time ago.. They were talking about shivering without being cold too. Not sure how that relates to your situation.
Probably worth a phone call to a doctor if not an actual visit, but I wouldn’t worry too much unless it gets more severe.
It’s actually not happened all that much since I got older. Or I guess I should say it takes much different circumstances. Maybe that’s because my body is used to being exhausted.
Happens to me every time I wake up after too little sleep. When it hits, I am not functional: Shaking, dizzy, and wobbly like a Weeble. Even if I stay up for a while, it won’t go away…the only “cure” I’ve found is to go back to bed!
I have the same problem. i rarely wake up @ 5:00, instead I wake up @ 9:00. But when I do I have this uncontrollable shaking, it’s so bad that it annoys me & drives me up the wall. My mom is even concerned about it, but it only happens from getting too little rest.
