Hello there. Welcome to Fluther!
You should check out some of our older threads
because it seems that a lot of people have had the same question. =)

Better to floss before or after you brush?
What’s the best order for good tooth care?

I actually brush before and after flossing!

My mom is a dentist, and she taught me to do this. The idea is to brush first to get the “big stuff” then floss to get the small stuff. You want to brush again to remove the soft plaque that has been removed from in between your gums but is still in your mouth. It also massages your gums and I think it feels really good. (But I’m probably weird).

i recon just floss then brush so you get all the crap out between your teeth and gums then brush, you don’t want to take to long and wast your time brushing twice

La_chica_gomela's avatar

ctimm, have you tried it before?

ctimm15's avatar

tried What

La_chica_gomela's avatar

Either of those things?

ctimm15's avatar

nope i’ve onley tried my way i recon it would be faster

ctimm15's avatar

any way do you know how to get friends (fluthers) ‘cause im new to this sh!t and i dont know how to

mea05key's avatar

i dun floss

La_chica_gomela's avatar

Well I’m sure your your way is faster, but if you’re going for speed why bother to floss at all? I’m sure if you “dun” floss, like mea05key, that would be even faster.

Maybe you should try something before you pronounce it a waste of time, or a “wast” of time, as you put it.

Floss first, then brush to get all the stuff out.

gailcalled's avatar

How rude can one get about teeth and flossing, anyway^^?

augustlan's avatar

I’m with La Chica: Brush, floss, brush again. That’s when I remember to floss…if I did it more often, I’d probably just floss, then brush.

ctimm15's avatar

i said what magnus said floss than brush so you get all the stuff out at least i have some one on my side

ctimm15's avatar

pluss its faster

ctimm15's avatar

wow, this is an unlikely forum for removal. anyway, neither. I don’t floss, though I really should, considering how exciting and heated it can get, apparently.

La_chica_gomela's avatar

ezglenn, sn’t it though?—apparently “chatting” is out now—even if it is about flossing, lol! (maybe if i make my text really small, it won’t count!)

mea05key's avatar

whats wrong by saying i dont floss

gailcalled's avatar

I would believe the daughter of the dentist. My technician says that flossing a lot makes more sense then brushing all the time.

Brushing feels good and virtuous and leaves you minty-fresh, but if you floss correctly (across the surface of teeth, etc) you are removing plaque, tartar, and stimulating blood flow to the gums. At least in this area (Ezra, take heed) your investment pays off.

ctimm15's avatar

pluss you can mouth wash

gailcalled's avatar

Plus learn to spell “plus” and use mouth-wash (as a noun, too.)

ctimm15's avatar

i don’t care about spelling as long as you can read it its OK this hole thing isn’t a spelling test is it mouth-wash mouth wash there’s no reel difference

augustlan's avatar

Removed by myself due to stupidity.

gailcalled's avatar

They’re reely is a difrence in the hole language thing, apart from spelling. They’res the ability to be understood, which is difrent from Bing abel to reed something. Pluss, neether mouth wash nor mouth-wash iz a verb. If so, in witch case, we can make up anything and then say idc. Onely don’t make assumptions about clarity.

I’m surprised at what shows up when I brush and then floss.
