What do you think of Certificate of Need Legislation?

How well does it work in your state. Does you state put out an annual coordinated health plan? How critical is this plan to the CoN process?

The program was spurred to avoid the waste of taxpayer resources by overbuilding of projects that were not necessary. The department of Human Urban Development requires a CON document even in states that don’t, because they believe it protects the public. California does not have a CON therefore, I can’t respond to it’s effectiveness.
