What was your favorite group/teamwork situation?

Asked by wundayatta (58741points) October 27th, 2008

I hope I can explain this properly. I’m trying to see if different people like to interact in groups in pretty much the same way, or if there is some kind of divergence in preference. I’m thinking of groups in all kinds of settings: work, sports, social, religious, and whatever. Maybe if you think about your life, and when you had the most fun with a group of people, you could use that. Try to describe what the group was like: what is was for, how it got together, and most importantly, what unstated rules of behavior it developed, and how those came into existence.

My favorite situation was one where my twin brother and i were stopped by the school bully in 2nd grade. He picked a fight with both of us. We met him after school on top of the snow hill they make when they plow the playground.

We told him we didn’t want to fight and he could play with us. He said he didn’t like us because of our blond hair. He had blond hair to. He took one step toward me, my brother knelt down behind him and I pushed him down the hill. He slid right down.

He came running up at my brother who grabbed his arm and I pushed from behind and he went down the other side. This time he just left.

The next day at recess when he was sitting by himself we talked to him and asked him to play.

It was a real life after school special. He completely changed. He defended everyone. Played well with everyone. He would pull up in races to make another kid feel better. It was amazing.
