Having a snapshot of a website emailed to you on a weekly basis?

Asked by dangdang (193points) October 28th, 2008

I need to check this website for information on a weekly basis on Fridays. Sometimes I forget and can’t get the information after the fact. Is there any service out there that can take a snapshot of a website on a given day and time of the week and email it to me?

I don’t know about the service, but why not make an outlook/ical event that reoccurs every friday with the URL in it? Provided you are behind a computer that day.

I have one but when I am out of town or away from the computer on those days it doesn’t help.

I know programmers can do something called “scraping” that pulls the data from a webpage according to the scraping schedule.

I don’t know how to do i, or if there is a service for it. but if you know any programmers, you can ask them if they know about scraping. Maybe you can have them build it and then market it to others?

Could you explain how to use ”#wget”? I am not advanced enough to understand what you mean. Thanks!
