Leopard.. Macs.. Mirza..?

Asked by Evan (810points) August 18th, 2007

so the easy part of the question is, at what date will macbooks sold in the store come preloaded with leopard..? the harder part of the question is.. isn't mac coming out with some new line of macbooks that have an increased amount of memory? is this true? is there a date that this is going to happen on? long story short: my GF is going to be getting one.. and we are curious about when she should actually make the purchase... oh - and Mirza do you still work at the apple store? :) :)

Leopard doesn't come out until October. I'd assume shortly after that, macbooks will be preloaded with them.

From my understanding the macbook update has already occurred.

And I don't know about mirza :-)

yes i still work at the apple store
but honestly we have no clue about what products are upcoming - we just get the shipment, set up the store and sell them - for example we had no clue about the new iMacs untill two days before they went on display (even gizmodo had more knowledge about the new imacs then we did)

Their has not been any official launch date for leopard - so no one other than the top guys at the Apple Corporate office know about it. But my suggestion would be wait till Leopard comes out - because firstly alot of the new software coming out in the next few years wont be compatible with tiger which means that it would suck to get tiger

Hopefully by the end of fall, leopard will be out. Any new mac product will have increased memory . They already updated the macbook pros a few months ago the santa rosa display a few months ago but there have been rumors of a 13 inch macbook pro

btw if your gf is still in college or knows anyone who is in college, make sure to bring your college id to get the 5-10 percent discount (dependent on specific schools)
