Do political rallies influence voters?

Asked by Fieryspoon (1058points) October 29th, 2008

Do undecided voters go to political rallies? I kind of feel like the people who would attend a poltical rally for one candidate or the other are probably already decided, aren’t they?

But! Those rallies get broadcast over and over and over on the news, and picked apart in blogs. So, for the attendees, they probably don’t. But the rest of us, who are showered with a 24/7 stream of cable news detritus? Maybe it’s changed a few minds. It’s definitely kept the candidates at the forefront of the news scene.

A political rally can only help a candidate sway undecided voters if the candidate is able to concoct some witty jab off-the-cuff that he is able to repeat ad-nauseum in future interviews.

If they do Obama should be off the hook.

He gets 10,000 and at McCain they have to ask them to gather like a family portrait at Thanksgiving.
