Do you think Sarah Palin is doing damage to Alaska's tourism?

My Husband and I really wanted to go to Alaska. Now, not so much. At least not until she is out of office.

I’m still going on a cruise next year.

She’s on the campaign trail. By being out of the state most of the time, you’d think that would help Alaska’s tourism industry. ;)

If she successfully gains the vice presidency the exposure of Alaska will be magnified. However, I feel Alaska has received more exposure in the last two months than the last two hundred years.

i’m so bloody sick of her…i used to think Alaska was cool, now it reminds me of her.

I don’t think she’s damaging Alaska’s tourism. But you better go before you need a visa.

For every person that doesn’t want to go because of her there will probably be about the same number that want want to go because of her. The other 98% doesn’t really care.

I doubt much will change.

I think Sarah Palin is doing damage to McCain’s bid for the presidency although I can’t see the connection where she might be hurting Alaska’s tourism.

EGAD!!! Alaska has a tourism campain?

I think she can only help it, because I’ve never considered going there. Awareness always helps.

no. And go. Alaska is still beautiful and its unblemished land may be lost forever by drilling and development.

If traveling protesters are considered tourists then I would only expect tourism to increase in Palin’s Alaska.

i betcha some people would go just to throw eggs at her house. i was outside her house 10 days before mccain announced her as his running mate. if i would have been there 10 days later, i would have bought some eggs and toilet paper. her house is mostly open to the public and they serve juice and cookies in the living room (another reason to go to alaska). by the way, you cant see russia from her house. you can see all ~9,000 houses of juneau, on one side, and on the other, Gold Creek, a river which runs through the “city”.

Who goes anywhere based on who the governor is. I want to go to Colonial Williamsburg and it never occurred to me to check out the governor of Virginia. However if you want to touch a glacier, mabe you better go sooner rather than later because they are disappearing fast.

I don’t think that is affecting people’s travel plans much. The bad economy is affecting it far more.

I would still love to go to Alaska one day, even though I can’t stand Sarah Palin. But it won’t be this year. I doubt that I’ll have a vacation at all this year.
