PLEASE DONT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would hope so.
If not, what state do you live in?
Might be interested in putting in a bid myself.

Looking at my ballot right now..

“WARNING: Any person who, by use of force or other means, unduly influences an elector to vote in any particular manner or to refrain from voting is subject to a fine.”

And that is from the ballot they mailed to Oregon residents. I would think selling your vote might fetch you some trouble.

Yes. It’s a felony.

dalepetrie's avatar

As far as I know, this is a federal felony. I was just listening to a story on NPR a few weeks back where the first person who tried to sell his vote on ebay (as a joke) had all these federal agents investigating him, he was on the cover of NYT the day after he posted it…it wasn’t good.

Poor joke.

You are kidding, right?

And if somebody delivers a burrito to my RV I will vote for Obama.

And if nobody delivers a burrito to your RV you will vote for Obama. Who do you think you’re fooling?
And what is it with you and burritos, anyway?

jrpowell's avatar

I’m just looking to score a burrito.
They are my second favorite food behind pizza, and I already had pizza today.

It is illegal to scalp your vote, but in some counties in Nevada, prostitution is legal and you can sell yourself.

psyla's avatar

How much would you sell it for if you could?... (your vote, not yourself) if it wasn’t a felony, for example.

queenzboulevard's avatar

Fifty dollars and sixty two cents

Nimis's avatar

Fifty dollars and sixty-one cents.

galileogirl's avatar

Do you always sell yourself that cheaply? Maybe that’s why you are so hard up for $50!

Nimis's avatar

Fifty dollars and sixty-three cents?

Well, to answer both questions, yes you can sell your vote, and yes it is illegal. In the same way, yes you can jaywalk or smoke crack or murder someone, but you would be likely to face legal consequences should you get caught doing so by someone willing to throw the book at you.

bodyhead's avatar

I’d sell my vote for $10 since you can loose the popular vote and still win the presidency.

gailcalled's avatar

Do not pass Go. Do not collect $200. Go directly to jail.

elchoopanebre's avatar

I say this would be an example of a free market democratic society in action.
