Restaurant Recommendations in Cincinnati?
Taking my daughter and her boyfriend to dinner in Cincinnati on 11/1. Any recommendations? We stay away from chains, and are all adventurous eaters. We don’t want to get too dressed up (by dressed up, no ties for the guys.)

Skyline?! Sheesh. Let’s step it up just a bit….
Montgomery Inn is a must do if you only have one evening out….there are two restaurants….one in Montgomery (suburb of Cincinnati, the original) and one downtown on the Ohio river (great views).
Additionally, there are the Jeff Ruby restaurants. There are 4 different restaurants. This is pricier than Montgomery Inn, if that is an issue…. The Precinct is really cool as it is in what was once a police station.
Embers is also really great and is right off of I-71.
Price is really not an issue, because it is both my birthday and my daughter’s, we are foregoing gifts this year, and we don’t really drink when dining out (we save that for at home.) We have a Jeff Ruby’s here (our Jeff Ruby’s refused to serve OJ Simpson in May) but I haven’t been yet.
I’ve wondered about the Montgomery Inn, and I haven’t heard of the Embers. Thanks for the good input!
Love Skyline! Had it last night.
There are actually 5 different restaurants owned by Jeff Ruby:
the Precinct, Carlo and Johnny’s, Waterfront and Bootsy’s. In addition there is a 5th restaurant, Jeff Ruby’s. (See link above).
Montgomery Inn is a definite “Cincinnati” thing to do….if you have never been, you should give it a try.
Thanks for the suggestions! We ended up going to Tink’s Cafe, which is in the Clifton Gaslight area. My daughter picked it because we heard the Faux Frenchman play at the World Music Fest, and I liked them. The Faux Frenchmen are a regular Monday night feature at Tink’s. There was no music last night, but the food and ambiance were excellent.
